Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2021 for International Students:

Applications are invited to apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2021 in Hong Kong. All International Students from all over the world are eligible to apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2021. Students who have done Bachelors degree (16 years of education) can also apply (Direct PhD). Both the MPhil and Bachelor degree holders can apply for Hong Kong PhD scholarship.

Students can apply in following study areas Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Technology, Humanities, Social Science and Business Studies under HKPFS 2021. This fellowship will cover all the expenses to study in Hong Kong best universities. It is the prestigious chance for students from around the world to pursue their PhD degree from abroad.

    Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2021 for International Students is a Full Free Scholarship. Here is the detail:

    • Stipend: US $40,900/year
    • A conference and research-related Travel Allowance of US $1700/year for each selected candidate for a period up to three years.
    • For awardees who need more than three years to complete the Ph.D. degree, additional support may be provided by the chosen universities. For details, please contact the universities concerned directly.

    Available Degree programs:

    Candidates can apply in one of the following academic field and major for PhD Course:

    • Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Technology
    • Humanities, Social Science and Business Studies

      • Leadership abilities.

      Application Deadline:

      The last date to apply for PhD Fellowship for International Students is 1st December 2020.

      How to Apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme?

      Eligible candidates should first make an Initial Application online through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES) to obtain an HKPFS Reference Number by 1 December 2020 at Hong Kong Time 12:00:00 before submitting applications for PhD admission to their desired universities.

      Applicants may choose up to two programs/ departments at one or two universities for Ph.D. study under HKPFS 2021/22. They should comply with the admission requirements of their selected universities and programs.

      As the deadlines for applications to some of the universities may immediately follow that of the Initial Application, candidates should submit initial applications as early as possible to ensure that they have sufficient time to submit applications to universities.

    • Step 1: Submit Initial Application to Research Grants Council:

      Starting date: 1 September 2020 at 12:00 noon Hong Kong Time

      Step 2: Submit Applications to Proposed Universities:

      After completing an initial application, applicants should submit full applications for their selected PhD programs to the proposed universities quoting their HKPFS Reference Number before the universities’ respective deadlines. As regards program information, requirements for PhD admission, application methods, regulations and policy of individual universities, please refer to individual universities and PhD programs for information.
